FIRST® LEGO® League Qualifying Tournament: ANIMAL ALLIESSM |
Message from the Founder
I want to thank everyone for coming and spending their Saturday with us; we saw so many great teams, cool robots and projects, and awesome Core Values!
I especially want to thank all of our volunteers who worked so exceptionally to help make this such a great event. There were two groups in particular that I need to mention. First, the Santana Sultans FIRST Robotics Team #3965. These students, parents, and coaches really provided the staffing needed to make our Qualifying Tournament run smoothly by providing volunteers to run the concession stand, serve as tournament assistants, judges, referees, and even our Head Judge. Without their dedication, enthusiasm, and spirit, it would have been a very different event.
The second group to mention is Grossmont College. Thank you for once again hosting us on such a beautiful campus and all of the support you provide to the STEM community all year long. For us, you also provided faculty to help setup, serve as some of our referees, the occasionally first aid needs, and even with packing up at the end of a long day. Ultimately, we also need to specifically mention Dr. Michael Reese, Dean of Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Exercise Science and Wellness; your support in securing the venues, free parking for our participants, setup and clean up, and everything you do along the way is something that we can never thank you for enough.
We look forward to being back in 2017 for another awesome East County FIRST LEGO League Qualifying Tournament! If you would like to help support next year's tournament and serve on our planning committee, please email events@swris.org.
